£199
2 way mini monitor - vinyl wrap finish. Available in
light cherry, dark cherry, black ash.

The ELS-3 mini monitor maintains the high standards
expected of any product bearing the Epos name but now at a
lower cost.
Designed not only for high performance two channel
operation, these new competitively priced Epos speakers
will further satisfy a requirement in the 5.1 home cinema
market, ensuring there is no need to compromise the audio
quality in the name of home entertainment.
Utilising a two-way bass reflex design, the ELS3
incorporates a 130mm woofer with injection moulded
polypropylene cone with dust cap and rubber rolled surround
on a heavy die-cast aluminium chassis. It has a dual magnet
and shielding can, further enhancing its use in a home
theatre application. The 25mm aluminium dome neodymium
tweeter is an entirely new Epos design and features the
Epos logo directly moulded onto the faceplate. In true Epos
style, the ELS3 has a minimalistic crossover.
In a deviation from the Epos real wood veneer cabinet, this
new ELS3 cabinet features a vinyl wrap finish allowing the
cost to be highly competitive. The choice of three colours
remains, enabling the addition of these speakers to
complement earlier models, should they be desired for use
in a rear channel application.
As you would expect from the manufacturer of such a
well-respected brand, this new and exciting Epos ELS3 has a
performance level that has to be heard to be believed.
- Power Handling 100 Watts Max
- Frequency Response 65Hz - 20kHz
- Impedance 4 ohms Nominal
- Sensitivity 87dB/1 watt/1 metre
ELS 303 Floorstanders £399
The ELS303 was released in June 2005. Combining the sonic strengths of the ELS 3 bookshelf speaker with an integrated 130mm woofer, this 2 1/2 way floor-standing speaker now covers a much wider range of frequencies than a bookshelf or stand mount speaker can.

The ELS 303 utilises the Swift Tweeter and Lightning 130
midrange driver from the ELS 3 with improvements to the
cross-over and midrange linearity. Epos has also developed
a new 130mm woofer, based upon the same chassis as the
Lightning 130 midrange. It can be differentiated by the
round dust cap and lack of cone damping material used on
the outside. The woofer is coupled to the rest of the
speaker in a 2 1/2 way fashion with a high linearity
crossover which rolls off at 100Hz. This combines with the
low frequency output of the midrange to give added power
handling to the bass, while maintaining a very slim 150mm
front baffle, which improves imaging at high frequencies.
The cabinet has the same footprint as the ELS3 but the
height is 87.5cms, including the plinth but not spikes.
This brings the tweeter up to the optimum 81cms listening
height to the user, when seated. The midrange section is
not ported. The woofer section is braced and sealed off
from the midrange section and is tuned with a port to 47Hz,
which determines the lower cut-off frequency of 43Hz for
the speaker.
Because the ELS 303 is a tall and slim speaker, it needs to
be stabilised to prevent it being accidentally knocked
over. Epos has designed a PVC foiled MDF plinth, which is
attached to the bottom of the cabinet with 6mm bolts. The
plinth increases the footprint of the speaker to make it
more stable. 6mm spikes are also supplied to help decouple
unwanted energy from the cabinet/plinth, when in use,
through to the floor.
To enable the user to connect the bass driver separately
from the midrange and tweeter, a gold plated bi-wiring
terminal is used. Metal links join the upper and lower
sections together and can be removed by the user to allow
bi-wiring.
- Power Handling 200 Watts Max
- Frequency Response 48Hz - 20kHz
- Impedance 4 ohms Nominal
- Sensitivity 87dB/1 watt/1 metre
ELS 3C £179
Centre channel.
The Epos ELS 3C centre channel utilises the same drive units as the ELS 3 and is therefore ideally matched for use in a home cinema application.

Featuring a 25mm metal dome tweeter with neodymium magnet,
together with two 5 1/2 woofers, this centre channel uses a
new die cast aluminium chassis with a cone and surround
similar to that being used in the M5 woofer. The Epos logo
is embossed on the tweeter faceplate.
In designing this centre channel, we have introduced an
unusual and acoustically advanced crossover which reduces
the colouration when two mid/bass units are in close
proximity to each other.
Available in a choice of three finishes, the Epos ELS 3C
centre channel is ideal for use with other ELS products in
a home cinema application.
Available in light cherry, dark cherry, black ash.
ELS
Subwoofer
£379
The ELS SUB has a massive and powerful 10" loudspeaker
driver fitted to the front of the cabinet, with enough
magnet strength and voice coil size to handle very high
power levels for long periods without distress. Its cone
diaphragm is very stiff to keep distortion and colouration
to a minimum. The rubber suspension surround is smaller
than normal and quite stiff, which also helps to reduce
distortion and low frequency over-hang. In short it has
been designed to be more appropriate for a two-channel bass
unit than a conventional sub-woofer.

To further boost the fidelity of the ELS SUB it has a very
stiff cabinet with extensive internal bracing which is
rarely found in conventional subwoofers. It has a
completely separate section at the back of the cabinet to
house the amplifier, which is more normally found in
professional speakers and not found in conventional
subwoofers at any price.
To further improve the sound quality Epos does not use port
tuning to achieve increased bass extension, which avoids
'chuffing' air turbulence noises interfering with the
fidelity of the loudspeaker.
As a general rule, stereo systems tend to be difficult to
integrate with conventional sub woofers because, for the
most part, sub woofers are generally not designed to match
them, and therefore suit 5.1 systems only. The Epos ELS SUB
is different and was conceived as a means of extending the
frequency response of a small pair of bookshelf speakers,
rather than just producing large outputs at one particular
frequency, such as 60 Hz.
This may appear to contradict established principles, but
Epos engineers have not limited themselves to only trying
to produce a product that plays 'one note' sound. For that
reason the ELS SUB is capable of extending low frequencies
with a relatively flat response down to 20 Hz. This is most
unusual and would normally be unheard of in conventional
woofers, because apart from anything else their cabinets
and amplifiers would rattle and buzz, due to the simple
method of construction used.
As a consequence of the design principles, this ELS SUB is
dynamic when part of a 5.1 system.
Back panel controls include High Level Input, Volume, Low
Filter, Power Switch (when left on with no signal the sub's
standby feature activates, AC Voltage Selector Switch, High
Filter, Phase, Low Level Input, and High Level Input.
Additional features to be found in this sub are both over
current cut-out and over temperature cut-out. The ELS SUB
does not use a compression limiter to pre-distort the
signals it cannot handle. No amplifier has infinite power
capabilities and has to be protected against destroying
itself under extreme conditions. To protect the sub's 300W
amplifier from excessive current demands it has been
designed to cut the signal to the speaker in the event of
an overload. The sound output is restored automatically
immediately the demand is lower. To protect the amplifier
from damage caused by excessive heat, there is a thermal
sensor attached to the amplifier's heatsink that is set to
trip the output if the internal temperature exceeds a
pre-set level. The reasons this might occur are high
ambient room temperature, direct sunlight, high level
operation for long periods and insufficient ventilation of
the amplifier control panel.
With a finish similar to the ELS 3 speakers and ELS 3
centre channel, the new ELS SUB will be available in the
same three finishes - light cherry, dark cherry and black
ash. The sub woofer has a black fabric grille and is sold
complete with spikes.
- Power Handling 300 Watts
- Frequency Response 20 Hz to 150 Hz with high and low filter
- Impedance 4 Ohms
- Sensitivity 89dB/1 Watt/1 metre
- Configuration 10" Bass Driver

M5i 2 way bookshelf speaker £425
Real wood veneer. Available in light cherry, dark cherry, black ash.

The M5i two-way bass reflex speaker may be the baby of the
new series, but its performance belies its size. It is
equally at home in a two-channel or home theatre
application. As you would expect, it is fully shielded
magnetically.
The M5i includes our revised Epos 25mm (1 in.) low
distortion metal dome tweeter, designed to have smooth,
clear extended treble. This tweeter features a strong
die-cast aluminium alloy face plate, moulded surround,
ferrite magnet and Ferrofluid cooling.
The new Epos 140mm (5.5in.) mid-range woofer reproduces
dynamic, natural bass and mid-range frequencies. This
robust drive unit has a die-cast aluminium alloy chassis
and phase plug, with contoured moulded polypropylene cone.
To reproduce bass cleanly and powerfully, it is loaded with
a port flared at both ends, which reduces turbulence and
distortion. The crossover is centred on 3kHz and
incorporates film capacitors in critical locations.
The bi-wirable input panel is made from solid anodised
aluminium alloy, with sturdy high-spec terminals suited for
spade lug or other types of plugs. High-grade metal links
join the terminals together and can be removed for separate
connection to each driver.
The front and rear baffles of the cabinet are 25mm (1 in.)
thick to reduce unwanted vibration and coloration. In a
choice of three pattern matched real wood veneers, the M5i
will be equally at home in a traditional or contemporary
setting. With its stylish silk cloth grille it integrates
easily with home furnishing.
- Power Handling 75 Watts Max
- Frequency Response 60Hz - 20kHz
- Impedance 4 ohms Nominal
- Sensitivity 87dB/2.83V/1 metre
M8i Centre channel £350
Epos approached the design of its M8i centre channel speaker exactly as you would expect - with no compromise to sound quality. Engineered specifically for the critical requirements of centre-channel reproduction, it has powerful bass, a fast, dynamic sound and high power handling. It is, of course, magnetically shielded.

The M8i includes the revised Epos 25mm (1 in.)
low-distortion metal dome tweeter, designed to have smooth,
clear extended treble. This tweeter features a strong
die-cast aluminium alloy face plate, moulded surround,
ferrite magnet and Ferrofluid cooling.
The new Epos 140 mm (5.5in.) high power mid-range woofer
reproduces dynamic, natural bass and mid-range frequencies.
Two such units are used in this model, isolated from each
other in separate rear-ported enclosures and positioned
either side of the tweeter. With two woofers working
together at low frequencies, power handling and sound
levels are greatly increased.
The M8i features an unusual crossover which reduces
colouration from the two closely spaced mid-bass units. The
upper crossover frequency is centred on 3kHz and
incorporates film capacitors in critical locations. The
bi-wirable input panel is made from solid anodised
aluminium alloy, with sturdy high-spec terminals suited for
spade lug or other types of plugs. High-grade metal links
join the terminals together and can be removed for separate
connection to each driver.
Centre channels can pose difficulties with placement but
Epos has provided the perfect solution with the M8i. The
cabinet is now rounded on the bottom and flat on the top.
It is also supplied with a contoured plinth, so that the
angle of the speaker can be adjusted to point at the
listener.
The M8i is styled to complement any décor. With its silk
cloth grille and beautifully manufactured real wood
cabinets, it will easily integrate with all furnishings.
Available in light cherry, dark cherry and black ash.
- Power Handling 75 Watt
- Frequency Response 60 Hz - 20 kHz
- Impedance 8 Ohm nominal
- Sensitivity 87dB/2.83V/1m
M12i £525
Traditionally the core of any Epos speaker series, the M12i is the ideal loudspeaker for those enthusiasts who prefer a stand-mount over a floor-stand option.
As with all speakers in the Mi range, the 12i is designed
to meet all the demands of today’s two-channel and
home-theatre audio. It is equally at home with music or
movies and is fully magnetically shielded. If the M12i is
to be used in a home theatre application, the M8i centre
channel and M5i, used for rears, make ideal choices.
The M12i uses the revised Epos 25mm (1 in.) low distortion
metal dome tweeter, designed to have smooth, clear and
extended treble. Featuring a strong die-cast aluminium
alloy face plate, moulded surround, ferrite magnet and
Ferrofluid cooling, it is a significant improvement over
the earlier M tweeter. The upper frequency crossover is
centred on 5kHz and the minimalistic 1st order crossover is
simply a polypropylene film capacitor.
Epos has designed a robust new 165mm (6.5in.) mid-range
woofer with die-cast aluminium alloy chassis, phase plug
and moulded polypropylene cone. Its curved cone profile and
graduated thickness were engineered to ‘roll off’ high
frequencies mechanically, in a smooth fashion. It also has
very high power handling. As such, the woofer requires no
electrical crossover to reproduce dynamic, natural bass and
mid-range frequencies in this model. To reproduce bass
cleanly and powerfully, it is loaded at the rear with a
port flared at both ends, which reduces turbulence and
distortion.
The bi-wirable input panel is made from solid anodised
aluminium alloy, with sturdy high-spec terminals suited for
spade lug or other types of plugs. High-grade metal links
join the terminals together and can be removed for separate
connection to each driver.
Equally attractive with or without the silk cloth grilles,
the M12i is offered in a choice of three beautiful
real-wood veneers. It seamlessly wraps around the front
edges of the pattern matched cabinets. The front and rear
baffles are 25mm (1 in.) thick to reduce unwanted vibration
and colouration.
- Power Handling 120 Watts Max
- Frequency Response 54Hz - 20kHz
- Impedance 8 ohms Nominal
- Sensitivity 87dB/2.83V/1 metre
M16i £850
The new Epos M16i is a floor-standing 2 ½ - way speaker which excels in accuracy, dynamics, imaging and poise. This speaker was designed to be equally dynamic in a two-channel or home theatre application. The result is a loudspeaker with deep bass, a fast dynamic sound and very high power handling. It is equally at home playing music or movies and is of course magnetically shielded.
The revised Epos 25mm (1 in.) low distortion metal dome
tweeter used in the M16i is designed for smooth, clear and
extended treble. It features a strong die-cast aluminium
alloy face plate, moulded surround, ferrite magnet and
Ferrofluid cooling. The crossover is centred on 3kHz and
incorporates film capacitors in critical locations.
The 140mm (5.5in.) mid-range driver, similar to that used
in the M5i, runs in a sealed chamber, with the tweeter. It
is designed to roll-off naturally around 90Hz, with useful
output below that. The woofer and mid-bass output overlap
and work effectively as one bigger unit. This reinforces
the power and dynamics of this compact speaker.
The bass driver is similar to the midrange but has a dust
cap instead of a phase plug. It is mounted in a separate
chamber in the lower section of the cabinet and is loaded
with a rear-firing port, flared at both ends for low
turbulence and minimal distortion. It is also filtered by
the crossover to limit frequencies above 100Hz.
Together, the woofer and mid-range units handle very high
power. We recommended that the M16i should be partnered
with an amplifier that is capable of driving a four Ohm
load to high levels.
Internally, extensive bracing and 25mm (1 in.) thick front
and rear baffles have been skilfully engineered to reduce
unwanted cabinet vibration and colouration. The tri-wirable
input panel is made from solid anodised aluminium alloy,
with sturdy high-spec terminals suited for spade lugs or
other types of plugs. High grade metal links join the
terminals together and can be removed for separate
connection to each driver.
Grilles are made of cloth, over an MDF frame, for easy
integration with home furnishings, although the M16i is
equally attractive without the grilles. A black lacquered
integral plinth includes sturdy steel inserts which take
adjustable 6mm carpet spikes (included). The plinth is
removable if desired.
The M16i is offered in a choice of three beautiful real
wood veneers, which seamlessly wrap around the front edges.
Cabinets are grain-pattern matched on left and right
speakers.
- Power Handling 150 Watts Max
- Frequency Response 48Hz - 20kHz
- Impedance 4 ohms Nominal
- Sensitivity 87dB/2.83V/1 metre
M22i £1100
The current flagship of the Mi range of speakers, the 2 ½- way M22i, has deeper bass and higher power handling than the M16i. In designing the M22i, the Epos engineering team designed a high performance two channel speaker that would be equally at home in a home theatre application.

The M22i uses the revised Epos 25mm (1 in.) low distortion
metal dome tweeter, designed for smooth, clear and extended
treble. The upper frequency crossover is centred on 5kHz
and the minimalistic 1st order crossover is simply a
polypropylene film capacitor.
As such, the woofer requires no
electrical crossover (neither high pass, nor low pass) to
reproduce dynamic, natural bass and mid-range frequencies
in this model.
The mid-range driver runs in a sealed chamber, with the
tweeter. It is designed to naturally roll-off around 80Hz,
with useful output below that. The woofer and mid-bass
output overlap and work effectively as one bigger unit.
This reinforces the power and dynamics of this compact
speaker.
The 165mm (6.5in.) bass driver is similar to the midrange
but has a weighted dust cap instead of a phase plug. It is
mounted in a separate chamber in the lower section of the
cabinet and is loaded with a rear-firing port, flared at
both ends for low turbulence and minimal distortion. It is
also filtered by the crossover to limit frequencies above
100Hz.
Together, the woofer and mid-range units handle very high
powers. We recommended that the M22i should be partnered
with an amplifier that is capable of driving a four Ohm
load to high levels.
The tri-wirable input panel is made from solid anodised
aluminium alloy, with sturdy high-spec terminals suited for
spade lug or other types of plugs. High grade metal links
join the terminals together and can be removed for separate
connection to each driver.
Great care has been taken with the manufacturing of the
cabinets. They are grain pattern matched for each pair.
Internally, extensive bracing and 25mm (1 in.) thick front
and rear baffles have been skilfully engineered to reduce
unwanted cabinet vibration and coloration. Grilles are made
of silk cloth, over an MDF frame, for easy integration with
home furnishings, although the M22i is equally attractive
without the grilles. A black lacquered integral plinth,
which includes sturdy steel inserts to take adjustable 8mm
carpet spikes, completes the package.
- Power Handling 250 Watts Max
- Frequency Response 38Hz - 20kHz
- Impedance 6 ohms Nominal
- Sensitivity 87dB/2.83V/1 metre
M SUB £649
The M SUB has a powerful 10" loudspeaker driver fitted to the bottom of the cabinet, with 2" voice coil and large magnet size to handle very high power levels for long periods without distress. Its paper cone diaphragm is very stiff to keep distortion and colouration to a minimum. The rubber suspension surround is smaller than normal and quite stiff, which also helps to reduce distortion and low frequency over-hang. In short it has been designed to enable the M Sub to integrate perfectly with a two-channel system that requires additional bass extension. However, it is also well suited to the needs of a 5.1 system and can provide exceptional bass extension for movies.

To further boost the fidelity the M SUB has a very stiff
cabinet with extensive internal bracing and thick walls,
which is rarely found in conventional subwoofers. It has a
completely sealed section at the back of the cabinet to
house its high powered 300 Watt amplifier. This technique
is more normally found in professional speakers.
To further improve the sound quality Epos does not use port
tuning to achieve increased bass extension. This helps to
avoid air turbulence noises ('chuffing') from interfering
with the fidelity of the loudspeaker. It also avoids the
usual peak in bass at one frequency that usually
characterizes the sound of inferior 5.1 type subwoofers.
As a general rule, stereo systems tend to be difficult to
integrate with conventional sub woofers because, for the
most part, sub woofers are generally not designed to match
them, and therefore suit 5.1 systems only. The Epos M SUB
is different and was conceived as a means of extending the
frequency response of a small pair of bookshelf speakers,
rather than just producing large outputs at one particular
frequency, such as 60 Hz.
This may appear to contradict established principles, but
Epos engineers have not limited themselves only to
designing a product that plays 'one note' sound. For that
reason the M SUB is capable of extending low frequencies
with a relatively flat response down to 20 Hz. This is most
unusual and would normally be unheard of in conventional
woofers because, apart from anything else, their cabinets
and amplifiers would rattle and buzz, due to the simple
method of construction used. As a consequence of the design
principles, this M SUB is exceptionally dynamic when part
of a 5.1 system.
Back panel controls include variable Volume, Low Filter,
High Filter and Phase adjustment controls. Low and High
Level Inputs allow the M sub to be driven either from
loudspeaker outputs direct from a power amp or pre-amp
signal, which will not load the driving amplifier as the M
sub's low level input is high impedance. Its Power Switch
features a standby function that sends the amplifier to
sleep when not used and wakes up automatically when it
receives a signal. The amplifier is able to work in most
regions as it has an AC Voltage Selector Switch and mains
fuse, accessible from the rear panel.
Additional features to be found in the M Sub are
over-current protection and over temperature cut-out. The M
SUB does not use a compression limiter to pre-distort the
signals it cannot handle. However, no amplifier has
infinite power capabilities and has to be protected against
destroying itself under extreme conditions.
With a cosmetic design similar to the M series range of
speakers, the M SUB is available in the three finishes -
light cherry, dark cherry and black ash.
The M Sub is designed to be a down firing speaker, with
fixed height legs to stand on. These can be used on their
own or with the matching wooden plinth that protects the
driver and allows the driver to breath properly. 6mm carpet
spikes or soft foam pads can be fixed to the bottom of the
plinth, depending on the floor surface or personal
preference.
- Power Handling 300 Watts
- Frequency Response 20 Hz to 150 Hz with high and low filter
- Impedance 4 Ohms
- Sensitivity 89dB/1 Watt/1 metre
- Configuration 10" Bass Driver
- Finish Real Wood Veneer
- Weight 26 kgs
- Size W x H x D (mm) 372 x 342 x 450

Metal frame stands to suit ELS3/M5 - Black or silver, self assembly

We are pleased to announce the addition of a second stand
to the Epos product range.
Designed initially to accommodate the ELS3, the ES35 metal
stand is both elegant and functional. It can be supplied in
either a silver or black finish and will also be suitable
for the new M5 speaker.
It stands 56cm high (without spikes) and has a solid top
plate. The bottom plate features an Epos badge. Three
columns make up the supports, the larger of which has the
added advantage of a cable channel.
This particular model does not have provision for the
addition of sand fill. The stands are supplied in a self
assembly format complete with top and bottom spikes.
