Hart EVO-1 loudspeakers consist of four cabinets in
total upon plinths.
They
were conceived as a loudspeaker to reproduce modern digital
based music in the studio and home with supreme accuracy,
speed and phenomenal bass. The EVO-1 has more than achieved
this expectation and is proven to be the loudest and
highest quality HD electronic music reproduction monitor
loudspeaker ever produced, guaranteed.
We
separated the bass cabinet from the mid/high cabinet so
that they were interchangeable this then allowed for two
different arrangements of the cabinets. When the bass
cabinets are mounted on top of the mid/high cabinets the
most efficient and resonant free bass reproduction occurs,
the bass being directed at the central echelon of the room.
When the bass cabinets are mounted beneath the mid/high
cabinets the standard low seat level bass coverage occurs
and a wide sound dispersion at seated head level from the
higher frequency cabinets. A matter of choice and taste.
Each
stack incorporates 10 speaker drive units, 8 of which use a
patented arrangement and are designated to bass from 16Hz -
120Hz. These are actively powered by a 500 watt RMS Hart
EVO-1 rear mounted active amplifier. Actively powering
these drivers gave extra speed and precision. Using small
cones is so economical compared to 15 or 18" cones as the
amplifier is not working to move heavy cones creating
wasted unnecessary resonance and vibration. The use of 8 x
4.5” long throw bass drivers powered by large motor
assemblies delivers 16Hz flat response but drops off below
audible immediately on 15Hz. Now that is hard to find. The
upper frequencies respond to these low frequencies
providing great digital clarity.
The
active amplifiers can easily power an additional
pair of bass cabinets which can be mounted on top of
either of the bass or mid cabinets.
The
upper frequencies are provided by two drive units
co-axially arranged i.e. a 12" mid driver with an
independent centrally located high power tweeter. With a
sensitivity of 97db 1w@1meter the 12" co-axial drivers can
be valve powered with beautiful results. Allowing no
limitation to your choice of power and amplifier as it's
capable of 400w RMS and 800w Peak power output and a
frequency response of 120Hz- 24Khz.
Perfecting
insulation between the cabinets and also the floor achieved
the best from each arrangement and each of the four
cabinets is insulated by a patented technique incorporating
polished stainless steel cupped plates and bearings, which
provide resonance insulation through minimal surface area
contact. The plinths are spike insulated.
