ARIA MM/MC phono pre-amplifier
Virtual Battery Off-Line Power Supply
£475
The
new Aria dedicated MM/ MC phono stage represents Audio
Analogue’s commitment to two channel hi-fi as well as Audio
Visual products. For the money it’s incredibly difficult to
find and equivalent sounding or similarly equipped phono
stage as this. Featuring the same quality chassis and build
quality of the Maestro range, the Aria is ideal for both
moving magnet and moving coil cartridges. In addition,
there’s the capability in the Aria to match the output to a
whole range of moving coil designs with a variety of output
levels by adding capacitance and resistance supplied with
the package. Uniquely, the Aria employs a ‘virtual battery’
power supply where two reservoirs of audiophile quality
capacitors feed the circuit. This results in an incredibly
smooth current supply which means a very smooth yet highly
detailed sound that belies the humble price tag. The Aria
is of ‘shoebox’ dimensions, making it possible to place in
a variety of situations and is very easy to
install.

PUCCINI
SETTANTA
£995
The
new Puccini 70 Integrated Amplifier represents a quantum
leap for Audio Analogue’s composers line, in sound quality,
manufacturing and assembly perfection, look & style and
performances, yet retaining the famous family look and ease
of use.
The
elegant yet sober appearance of the Puccini 70 will allow
for a discrete placement in every domestic environment,
with both classic style or modern furniture.
The
new, totally remote-controlled discrete components circuit
deliver crystal-clear power up to 70W per channel on 8 Ohm,
with impressive dynamic headroom. Very accurate protections
save the power stage and the speakers from burn-outs, while
allowing for full dynamic power delivery in every normal
listening situation. The high-performance discrete
components preamplifier circuit operates a perfect
interface between the integrated bufferless resistor
network potentiomenter and the power amp’s input,
contributing to the balanced sound of the amplifier. Solid
state input selectors allow for indefinite best quality
performance (no sound detriment due to metallic contacts
ageing and wear-out). An optional MM/MC phono board is
available to turn Input 1 into a high quality phono input.
A special bypass feature, selectable by remote’s “setup”
option, allows the user to turn the Puccini 70 into a power
amplifier on a specified input, to include the amplifier in
a multichannel system as front speakers power amp, while
using the same speakers for two channel listening using the
stereo sources connected to the amplifier. The new
seven-keys solid brass remote control allows for a more
flexible control of the Puccini 70. Of course, all the main
features of the amplifiers can be used by the front panel’s
simple controls. Great care hasbeen used in the passive and
active components selection, as usual for Audio Analogue.

BELLINI VB Pre Amplifier
£1695
The
Bellini is a very advanced,
virtual battery powered preamplifier
that raises the bar for the Composers range. The unique
off-line virtual battery supply, an advanced version of the
one introduced in the Aria phono preamplifier, ensures
complete immunity to every disturbance that could come from
the mains through the power transformer and regulator
capacitance. One of the inputs can be easily changed to
accommodate line or phono (both mm and mc) and there are
balanced XLR as well as RCA outputs. The combination of
very high quality components and design mixed with
traditional Audio Analogue value for money makes this a
very appealing audiophile product.
Audio Analogue built Bellini Virtual Battery with a
preamplifier with line ins, a high-quality phono in,
high-performance circuits and separated circuit sections
for each channel. Bellini Virtual Battery solutions make
the unit a valuable and durable investment.

MAESTRO
Settanta
£1750
The
new Maestro Settanta is a high quality 70 w per channel
integrated that represents the entry level in the Maestro
integrated amp range. It uses the new style solid aluminium
chassis and thick extruded aluminium front plate for a
stylish and functional design that is also built to last.
The amplifier features fully electronic switching, a
100-step buffered resistor network volume and a port for
RS-232 interface control. Of the five inputs, the first can
be optimised, electronically via the stylish remote
control, as either a line, MM or MC phono input. This
feature indicates the advanced level of technology found in
the new range of Maestro products perfectly.

Inside only the highest quality discrete components are
found - such as low tolerance MIL standard metal layer
resistors and high speed electrolytic capacitors - each
being specifically selected for its sound quality. A large
toroidal transformer is used for the analogue power
section, with a supply section for each channel. The
Maestro Settanta is a highly sophisticated design with a
sound and look to match. It offers advanced detail and
imaging that puts it right up with the best audiophile
amplifiers on the market.

MAESTRO Reference MONO [PAIR]
£9950
The
basic structure of the amplifier Maestro MONOBLOCK is the
same used in the precision balanced amplifier used in the
laboratories.
It
is made of three different amplifiers. The first two must
amplify in tension the balanced signal and the third one
must supply the necessary current amplification to drive
the speakers. This kind of structure has two important
benefits: the first one is a high immunity to the disturbs,
while the second one is the possibility to improve each
amplification stage. The separation between the gain in
tension and of the gain in current permits to realize class
A tension amplifiers made with low power components, so to
obtain a frequency response up to about 500kHz. Such
frequency extention gives the possibility to mantain the
phase errors to a very low level. The power section has
been designed to obtain a high gain in current and not in
tension. Thanks to this solution, it is possible to keep
the frequency response at full power around at 200kHz. Also
the bass frequency extention has been realised with care
applying an off-set recover circuit able to go down to 3Hz.
Due
to its two stages configuration, the amplifier Maestro
Monoblock does not have a global feedback between inputs
and outputs.
The
Maestro Monoblock’s nominal output power is of impedance.
This power goes up to 800W@2ohms. The protections starts to
work at around 1000W with a load of 1ohm(if your house
system can support it!) To obtain these kind of power
levels the supply section has been overdimensioned. In
fact, have been used two toroidal transformers for a total
of 1406W. Each power branch is rectified from a diode’s
bridge, with 50A components and the filter section contains
8 electrolytic 15000F capacitors for a total of 120000 F.
Furthermore, also the supply of the low power section has
been realized one bridge for each branch and filtrated with
two 15000F capacitors. To maintain a low output impedance
has been realised 10 pairs of bipolar transistors whom low
distortion level are guaranteed by the producer. Their
polarization current permits to get a class A working up to
about 10W. The current pass trough some copper bars. Each
earth converges to a sole junction (star configuration)
realised with a copper plate half a millimetre thick that
has also a shielding function. Obviously, such big quantity
of different parts is used to supply only one channel of
your stereo system!

An
amplifier able to supply more than 30 ampere must be well
protected. The amplifier Maestro Monoblock has a section
exclusively dedicated to this function. At the moment of
the switching on, the filter capacitors are loaded trough
two power resistors to limit the power comsumption. Once
the supply voltage has passed the critical phase, the
resistors are excluded by two 40A relè. These relay are
able to stop the supply of the power amplifier and have
been used to replace the fuses. The only existing fuse on
the Maestro Mono is used to protect the control board and
hasn’t any effect to the audio signal. There are also
others protections that are used to control the presence of
DC power on the speakers, the AC power voltage drop and the
current absorbtion surplus.
