Origin Live
The new generation of turntables from Origin Live are the
result of continuous development that have pushed back the
boundaries on sound quality by significant leaps and
bounds. Dealers now tell us that these new decks simply run
rings around the competition.
The MK2 decks
These advance on the excellent performance already
established by the MK1 range. The latest decks are built
around a new extremely high grade bearing, precision bored,
honed and polished. This enables the bearing to rotate in a
pure film of special oil with no surface to surface contact
except the load bearing tip. Many bearings do not achieve
this ideal due to imperfect tolerances and surface
finishes. The load bearing tip acts as a single energy
transmission point, essential for sound purity.
Platter materials depart from the standard Acrylic commonly
employed in the industry but instead use special plastics
that are a considerable advance. The decks are non
suspended but support a sub-chassis on a single point to
isolate it from vibration. Further performance is gained
from the large motor pod that imparts great stability to
the high grade dc motor. VTA is included for all Origin
Live arms and arms with Rega geometry. Most other arms can
be accommodated by ordering a sub-chassis to suit.
Optional finishes: The decks are finished impeccably to a
deep lustre polished black but are also available in a
variety of finishes for an extra £150. Optional finishes
include polished white, Clear and Frosted. Package deal: If
the OL1 tonearm is included in an deck order then a free
rear metal stub is fitted to the arm to radically improve
performance. This addition is not up to the same level as
the Origin Live structural upgrade but is a significant
step along the way.
Upgradable: All decks can be upgraded with Origin Live
Stage 1 or Stage 2 power supplies.
Sovereign
MK2
£3970
The Sovereign turntable is our top of the range deck. It
incorporates the latest thinking to produce what we believe
is the highest performing turntable available, regardless
of price or reputation. The deck is a semi suspended
sub-chassis design built with the highest grade materials
to the highest design tolerances
"...overall fit and finish are superlative, the styling
speaks for itself, and sonically, the deck has stellar
abilities. How stellar? Well, the first slab of vinyl to hit
the deck had us giggling like helium-addled hyenas. That
soon turned to awe as the Sovereign revealed its true
colours, leaving us with jaws so slack that any
self-respecting redneck would have been proud. With all
forms of music it remains effortlessly composed, giving
tremendous insight into the original recording’s
emotion.Detail levels stun, revealing subtleties we had
never noticed even in some of our personal faves. The
separation of instruments is fantastic too: the sound
appears to be huge and beautifully spread through the vast
soundstage, while bass is deep, tuneful and punchy...We
can't recommend this Origin Live deck highly enough:it has
the power to stop a herd of wildebeest with its authority -
yet it can also bring a grown man to his knees in tears"

Resolution Classic MkII £2300
The Classic version of the Resolution is virtually the same as the Resolution in terms of engineering content. However, in recognition that some prefer a more traditional appearance, we have styled this deck in a beautiful cherry plinth made from solid wood.
The Resolution Classic turntable is approximately the same specification as the Resolution Modern but styled for those who prefer a more traditional look, and comes with a lid. Formerly known as the Oasis-S, this represents the culmination of an intense pursuit of the ultimate performance available today. At Origin Live, we believe that vinyl reigns supreme in terms of musical performance and quality.
The Resolution Classic is a high end turntable designed for those who wish to take maximum advantage of this superb medium. The turntable draws on long established principles of high end turntable design, combined with more recent innovations. Only the highest grade parts are used, especially in the bearing design, which enjoys extremely fine tolerances. Due to its exceptional performance, the Resolution Classic is able to maintain its superiority over other decks even when fitted with inexpensive tonearms and cartridges. Investing that little bit extra in the deck can therefore result in a considerable overall saving.

Calypso
£1470
The Calypso is a very advanced version of the Aurora
turntable, with inertia disc decoupling for the
sub-chassis, better power supply and thicker plinth to
deliver an even higher level of performance.
For out and out performance this deck has it all .
Capablility includes outperforming most decks on the market
at many times it’s price - the Calypso is simply without
peer.
High grade parts are employed for exceptional performance.
The Calypso maintains its stature in comparison with other
turntables even when fitted with inexpensive tonearms and
cartridges. Investing that little bit extra in the
turntable can therefore result in a considerable overall
saving.
The strengths of the Calypso lie in its superb
transparency, coupled with tangible sound staging and
imaging. It is very neutral and will suit most systems
exceptionally well. You can expect this turntable to give
you many years of listening pleasure.
"This is one of the few turntables I could listen to for
days at a time with no hint of listening fatigue. It
presents the music as it was recorded....Pace is second to
none along with precisionand an extremely believable sound
stage. Even with the least expensive pick up arm, this
turntable projects an image that is frighteningly
realistic....Overall an extremely fine piece of engineering
with factory support of the highest order. I can recommend
this record deck with complete confidence."
HI FI WORLD 2004

The turntable is sculpted in stylish curved profiles that
will look at home in most surroundings. There is a choice
of finishes.
The Calypso is similar to the Aurora MK2 at first glance
but offers considerably higher performance. This is by
virtue of the following - A thicker plinth for reduced
resonant deflection leading to greater stability for the
cartridge to track your records
Heavy inertia disc for mounting the sub-chassis - this
reduces the effects of vertical modes of vibration. Inertia
disc pods to resist rotational forces due to ground bourn
and air bourn vibration “Ultra” control circuit - higher
grade components and improved performance
Aurora
MK2
£750
The new Aurora Mk2 is an affordable evolution of the much
more expensive high performance Sovereign deck. £750 for
the Aurora Mk2 (excluding arm) seriously belies the
performance available from this deck which is based on a
Formula 1 design approach rather than Mercedes Benz.
The Aurora Mk2 turntable follows in the steps of its high
performance predecessor but with improved looks and still
higher performance. Derived in many aspects from Origin
Live’s award winning Aurora Gold - it represents unrivalled
performance at this price point AND well above it. The
Aurora MK2 will comfortably outperform many more expensive
decks even when fitted with inexpensive tone arms and
cartridges. Investing that little bit extra in the
turntable almost always results in a considerable overall
saving.
The strengths of the Aurora MK2 lie in its superb
transparency, coupled with tangible sound staging and
imaging. It is very neutral and will suit most systems
exceptionally well. You can expect this turntable to give
you many years of listening pleasure.

The record player is sculpted in stylish curved profiles
that will look at home in most surroundings. There is a
choice of mirror finish black, clear acrylic, frosted or
white finish.
410mm wide, 410mm deep, 145mm height. Weight 10Kg including
arm.
- High grade parts
- Platter made of propritery material.

- Ironless DC motor design with no 'cogging' effect.
- The regulated power supply of this motor is load compensating as well as being stable across a wide range of temperatures. Speed control is easily electronically switched between 33rpm and 45 rpm (78rpm is also available on request).
There is nothing to go "out of tune" on the Aurora record player. The record player is a non suspended design so the centre loading means that the deck is simple to set up and fuss free. VTA arm adjustment is provided for the Rega and Origin Live arms, which makes setting the arm height much easier.
Tone Arms
ORIGIN LIVE SILVER TONEARM Mk 3 £599
The Silver is a leading high performance tonearm offered at a fraction of the cost of other high end arms. The arm builds on the success of the highly acclaimed Origin Live OL1 and Rega arm upgrades. The fully upgraded OL1 is listed among the world’s “super arms” for performance and frequently mentioned alongside names such as the Linn Ekos, Naim Aro, SME V, Graham etc - these arms all have certain strengths and excel over one another in different areas. However none could really be said to have all the musical characteristics necessary in a tonearm. The Silver addresses this situation by possessing a superb blend of qualities. It is this blend that makes it a truly great all round performer, able to excel in all aspects of music.
All critical components are upgraded using advanced alloys and innovative techniques. The result of these changes is an incredibly transparent arm with superb tonal balance. The sound produced is free from coloration allowing previously unheard low level information to be noticed clearly. The arm exhibits a clean dynamic sound coupled with a tight and powerful bass.

"....... the Silver is...the very best tonearm I've ever
heard..... awsomely tight bottom end...the midband - glass
clear, incredibly liquid, fantastic image precision,
walkaround soundstaging and incredible timbral
realism...the treble is shockingly open and airy up
top...the £599 price tag is laughably low...could probably
charge 5 times this amount...words can't express how good
this is - one of the designs of the decade."
