amplifier is point to point wired without the use of any
PCB.The output transformer is hand wound by Mr Lee inventor
of the famed "LITZ" winding technique. Unlike currently
mass produced equipment on the market that is predominantly
Made in China, all of TL66 Mono Vacuum amplifier's internal
parts employ an eclectic mix of audiophile grade German,
American and Japanese parts that offers unsurpassed sonic
experience and are hand made in Taiwan.
Compared to equipment that comes supplied with standard
current production Chinese or Russian tubes, our amplifier
uses NOS OTK 6L6 (circa 1980s) for its power stage and NOS
Sylvania 6AU6 driver tubes for the pre stage, the TL66 Mono
Block Vacuum Tube Amplifier brings within reach audiophile
sound quality in a complete single unit.
The TL66 Mono Vacuum Tube Amplifier is able to accept KT88
and/or 6550 tubes, maximising flexibility for enthusiasts
to roll tubes in the quest for audio nirvana.
Internal components consist of:
NOS "FRAKO" capacitors originally made in East Germany. The
horizontal Champagne and Gold Coloured audiophile Frako and
Roe caps are often seen utilised in Studer CDP. Frako and
ROE capacitors are sonically alike, though Frako is less
bright than ROE caps. Frako is renowned for its midbass
punch and subtle airiness.
Main Coupling caps are of the proprietary JohnBlue brand
"Mr Cable" ( aqua blue cap) Volume pot is Japanese
BlueShelled Alps.
AC Power filter caps are Audiophile grade Hitachi (Basic)
or BHC / Rifa supply for special order.
Other parts: Carbon and Allan Bradley resistors, Pure
Virgin and OCC copper wires for internal point to point
wiring, Wonder Solder for all contact and lead points.
Tubes used are NOS OTK 6L6 and US made 6AU6 and 6L6 tubes
are DIRECTLY interchangeable with: KT88 / 6550 / EL34 /
KT77
